Fly Dreamliner 787-9 with Air New Zealand

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is the latest addition to Air New Zealand's fleet and they are excited to be the first airline in the world to take delivery of the aircraft and deploy it on their international routes to Perth, Shanghai and Tokyo from Auckland.

10 aircraft are expected to join the Air New Zealand fleet by 2017.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has a stretched out fuselage that is 206 feet long and has a range of 8,300 nautical miles or 15,400 kilometers.

The aircraft has a higher fuel capacity then its previous incarnations and also has a higher maximum take off weight.

When the 787-9 was first launched it had exactly the same fuel capacity as the 787-8 but Boeing made some design changes which increased its fuel capacity and gave it a higher maximum weight and longer range.
